Shirley-Ann Walters

Shirley-Ann Walters is a fully qualified Chartered and State Registered Physiotherapist with over 30 years clinical experience in a variety of physiotherapy settings, both NHS and private care, as well as senior hospital management. 

 

Shirley-Ann qualified from The Middlesex Hospital London in 1988, worked in the NHS, then in private practice before joining BMI Runnymede Hospital and becoming the physiotherapy manager. She started her own practice in Ascot in 2001, and in 2011 moved to Lightwater. From March 2026 she practices from Hemispheres, The Old Stables, Rectory Farm, Broadway Road, Lightwater, GU18 5SH. 

 

Shirley-Ann keeps up with new physiotherapy treatment techniques and is also a fully qualified and regularly re-assessed practitioner of complementary therapies.

Shirley-Ann Walters and Physio First

Shirley-Ann is an active volunteer at her professional association, Physiofirst where she was voted into the community representatives group in 2023. A member since 1992, Shirley-Ann started attending the Physiofirst remote drop-in sessions during lockdown, appreciating the connections and potential for supporting one another whilst embracing our similarities and differences, and representing the wider membership with openness, integrity, and understanding.

Philosophy

Practicing General MSK physiotherapy for over 30 years, Shirley-Ann is dedicated to supporting people to receive the realisations that lead to self-care, consider the wider factors contributing to injury, facilitate healing and prevention of recurrence and the return to life’s flow, using listening, expression and effective practical hands-on physiotherapy techniques.
